Thanks to BCoT I have a good foundation in public services and an ideal qualification for entry to the university of my choice!
My GCSEs were disappointing and for a few years I was uncertain about my career. Having eventually aspired to a career as a commissioned officer in the Army, my next step was to gain appropriate qualifications and I was delighted to find the perfect course at BCoT.
Public Services courses have been offered at BCoT for many years and lecturers bring with them extensive knowledge and understanding of every area within public services.
The course has helped me confirm that an Army career is right for me and has given me increased self-confidence and knowledge in areas I never thought would be relevant! It includes aspects of law, discipline, sports coaching and leadership.
I enjoy the academic challenge of meeting deadlines, as well as the practical side, which includes visits from the armed forces and police. Trips to army bases have been great fun and taught me about physical and mental strength, as well as working as a team and improving leadership skills.
Next year I have been accepted by Swansea Metropolitan University to study BA Hons Public Services and I intend to join the University Officer Training Corps in preparation for my Army career.”
