Entry Level
Take the opportunity to develop your confidence in literacy and numeracy. You will study for an NOCN Diploma in Personal and Social Development. This will enable you to work at your own pace to follow your own interests and build up achievements throughout the year.

The Directions course is very interesting and great preparation for life after college. I have even learned about managing money. It has also given me another year to improve my Maths and English and provided the chance to try out a few areas. I chose Hairdressing and Catering and have enjoyed lessons in both areas.
It has been my ambition to become a hairdresser since Year 10 when I attended a taster day and I really enjoy the hairdressing lessons and have learned a lot. I have even bought a head doll on which to practise at home. I found catering fun too and had the chance to make sweet and savoury dishes and to take them home. The cooking skills I have learned will come in useful in life.
The lecturers have really helped me and made me into a much calmer person. Thanks to them, next year I am joining the full-time Level 1 Hairdressing course.”
