A Music Technology lecturer at BCoT has just learnt that an album he co-wrote a track on for record-breaking Japanese band Arashi has just become the only record in Japan to sell a million copies last year.

BCoT students win International Awards

BCoT were proud winners of two awards at the very first Internationalisation Awards ceremony held in Birmingham. Supported by the UK Council for International Student Affairs (UKCISA), the awards are a celebration of the fantastic work being done in Students’ Unions across the UK in order to improve the lives of international students.

“If I wanted a new career, it was up to me to make it happen….”  Abigail Peters.

"I’m not sure how long it was, but I’d wanted to change my career for quite a few years. I was a mum of two children, a hairdresser, and like everyone else, struggling to juggle the many demands that life throws your way. However, for me it was a case of ‘now or never’ and I knew that if I wanted to pursue my dream of becoming a building surveyor, it was up to me to do something about it.

Students from BCoT’s School of Engineering attended a presentation on ‘Careers in Engineering’ by guest speaker Tim James, Programme Manager from GE Aviation. Tim was accompanied by his son Scott, who was a former Engineering student at BCoT and is now working as an apprentice engineer for GE Aviation.
